DeWanda Gail Postell, 83, of Haleyville, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, with her funeral following at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Thornhill Cemetery.
Ms. Postell is survived by her children, Lynn (Bart) Hyde, Diane Nesbitt, Sandra Doss, Sharron (George) Shirey, Frankie Postell, Karen Bonner, Genetta Steien and Chris Brannon; brother, Billy (Fayrene) Whitman; brothers-in-law, Cotton Postell and Donnie Postell; sister-in-law, Luvoice Berry; grandchildren, Chris (Pam), Joey (Tracy), Adam (Mitzi), Ami Lynn (Chris), Kensley, Jake (Gracie), Dexter (Ashley), Kaleb, Jonathon, Hunter, Haley, Hanna, Whitney (Michael) and Deanna; 24 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Whitman and Dessie Kelly and husband, L.C. Postell.
