Blake was born on October 12, 1942, in Haleyville. An outstanding football player, he graduated from Phillips High School and went on to work in the mobile home industry. He retired from the Marion County School System.

Blake served as a deacon at South Haleyville Baptist Church for many years.  Most recently, he was a member of Sunny Home Baptist Church.

Blake was a devoted husband to Faye Adamson and a loving father to Connie, Anita and Leissa. Blake and Faye were married for 62 years. He loved his family, but was especially devoted to Leissa, his special needs child. Blake always had energy to get on the floor to play with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Known for his kindness, humor, wisdom and handyman skills, he touched countless lives with his willingness to help everyone and anyone.

He loved farming, gardening,= and riding on his restored Farmall Cub tractor. He was always generous with his crops, sharing with everyone. Saturdays in the fall saw him rooting for his favorite college team, Alabama. A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, his legacy will live on through the values he instilled in his family and the memories shared by all who knew him.

Blake is survived by his wife, Faye Adamson; children, Anita Jones, Leissa Adamson and Connie Southern; wonderful sons-in law, Bobby Jones and Terry Southern; siblings, Melissa Diane Benford and Donald Ray Adamson; grandchildren, Kellie (Billy) Walker, Emily (Derrick) Flanagan, Josh (Amy) Handley, Katie (Dekaiden) Clark and Kyler Handley; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Walker, Anna Flanagan, Amelia Flanagan, Lainey Handley, Diana Handley and Marcus Handley and a host of many loved nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Clinton Adamson and Evie Adamson; siblings, Henry Clay Adamson, James Adamson, Barbara Benford, Horace Adamson, Kathryn Smith, Gordan Willis "Wilkie" Adamson and Jenell Albright and a special nephew, Hank Albright.

He will be deeply missed, but his love and spirit will remain in our hearts forever.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Phillips Schools.
