HALEYVILLE - Results from the election for places two and three of the Haleyville Board of Education Tuesday night, Aug. 28, showed Place 2 Incumbent Barry Burleson winning over opponent Beth Sunseri Moore in a close race. Burleson had 52.4 percent of the vote or 529 votes compared to Moore's 47.6 percent of the vote or 480 votes. In the race for place 3, Incumbent Steve Stott was defeated by Chad Tidwell, who was making his first run for the board. Tidwell had 53.2 percent of the vote or 542 votes compared to Stott's 46.8 percent of the vote or 477 votes. Results beat by beat showed the following: Senior Citizen Center: Burleson 308, Moore 307; Stott 312, Tidwell 308; Neighborhood Facilities Building: Burleson 101 Moore 82; Stott 81 Tidwell 104 Waldrop: Burleson 55 Moore 32 Stott 26 Tidwell 64; Pebble: Burleson 38 Moore 23 Stott 17 Tidwell 45 Delmar: Burleson 16 Moore 12 Stott 15 Tidwell 13; Absentee: Burleson 11 Moore 24 Stott 26 Tidwell 8.
