The Winston County Yellow Jackets junior varsity's effort to come back from down six runs in the fourth inning came up just short, as they fell 12-11 to Carbon Hill on Tuesday, April, April 16. Winston County scored six runs in the failed comeback on a walk by Nic Moody, a walk by Ryker Morgan, a single by William Holt, a single by Jacob Hill, and a single by Eli Edgil.
Kristopher Jones earned the win for Carbon Hill. He went two innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out five and walking zero. Bryson Prince and Clayton Tittle entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Hill took the loss for Winston County. He went three innings, allowing eight runs on five hits and striking out five. The Yellow Jackets had nine hits in the game. Hill and Edgil all managed multiple hits. Hill went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits.
