HALEYVILLE - Contracts for Christy Bice, principal at Haleyville Elementary, as well as Middle School Principal Bo Wilcoxson were extended by the Haleyville Board of Education during their regular meeting Tuesday, March 20. The contracts for each were approved, effective July 1, 2018-June 30, 2021. Contract for Chief School Financial Officer Candy Marbutt was also extended, from July 1, 2018, ending June 30, 2021.
Among numerous other personnel items, a maternity leave was approved for Sarah Vice effective April 2-May 25. Mandy Townsend was hired as middle school math tutor for June and July. The following were hired as teachers for the STEAM program that will be incorporated at Haleyville Schools in June and July: Amber Lambert, Michelle Rushing, and Jayme Hall as lead teachers, with Lisa Arnold, Jamie White, Amy Cagle, Shanda Barnett and Lisa Cook hired as STEAM teachers. A leave under catastrophic illness was also approved for Rachel Armstrong, starting Feb. 1.
