Lynn takes down Phil Campbell in spring football

Haleyville Lions JV defeated Phil Campbell 1-0 on Friday, April 12, as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Kaleb Garrett induced a groundout from Francisco Casasola to finish off the game.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Haleyville pitchers struck out seven.
HALEYVILLE - Haleyville High School junior pitcher Brant-son Lambert held the Phil Campbell Bobcats scoreless in the first five innings of the baseball game Thursday, March 7, at HHS.
The Bobcats only runs came in the sixth inning, scoring three to make the score 5-3, under reliever Ben Lowman.
Scott McAlpine came in the top of the seventh to close for the Lions, with the 5-3 victory giving HHS a 5-2 season record to date.
Lambert had six strikeouts, with 14 first pitch strikes.
Austen Baker pitched six innings for the Bobcats.
PHIL CAMPBELL - Brittany Kaylen Barnett, 21, has been charged with murder in the Monday evening, Feb. 4, death of Jason Poore, 38, of Russellville. The crime allegedly occurred on County Highway 81 in Phil Campbell. According to a press release from Phil Campbell Police Chief Joe Fike, his department is conducting the homicide investigation, with assistance from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
BEAR CREEK - The Phil Campbell Lady Bobcats won a narrow victory over the Phillips High School She Bears Monday, Jan. 28, at PHS, in Bear Creek, by a score of 77-75.
The Lady Bobcats had a first half lead at halftime by a score of 36-30. The She Bears erased that lead in the third period, taking a two point advantage, 53-51. It was a battle to the end with the Lady Bobcats winning 77-75.
