HALEYVILLE - Talk about your proverbial barn burner. The Haleyville High School Lions pulled out a 79-77 win in overtime Thursday, Dec. 12, over area opponent Fayette Tigers.
The Lions had a two point lead with 26 seconds left in the game, but the Tigers tied it up with seven seconds to go at 68-68.
The Lions had the same two point lead in overtime at 79-77, when the Tigers threw in the ball and missed the last second shot.
Braxtan Tollison was hot on the night from three-point land, scoring 29 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals;
CURRY - The Haleyville Lady Lions were eliminated from the area tournament Monday, Oct. 21, in Curry. HHS lost in three straight sets, 25-18, 25-8, 28-26.

HALEYVILLE - Area play for the Haleyville Lady Lions and the Fayette County Lady Tigers went five sets Tuesday, Oct. 1. Fayette won the first set 25-13, with Haleyville winning the second 25-23, Fayette the third, 25-13 and Haleyville the fourth 25-23 to send it to number five. Haleyville had the initial lead in the fifth set, but the Lady Tigers were victorious 15-12. The match was hosted by the Lady Lions.

CURRY - The Haleyville Lady Lions asserted their will over Fayette County on their way to an easy 11-5 victory Monday, April 29, in the 4A Area 11 tournament held at Curry High School. This was the second game for HHS in the tournament.
The Lady Lions got things started in the second inning. An error scored one run for the Lady Lions.
Lady Lions notched four runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught came from triples by Kaylee Riddle and Hailie Moody and a home run by Ana Aaron.
HALEYVILLE - The Haleyville Lions baseball took both games of a doubleheader with Fayette Thursday, April 11, defeating Fayette County 4-2 in the second game.
The Haleyville Lions baseball team secured the 4A Area 11 championship Wednesday, April 10, in Fayette by defeating Fayette County 3-2. Haleyville pitchers allowed just four hits to Fayette County.
FAYETTE - Haleyville Lions junior varsity baseball team defeated Fayette County 9-0 on Wednesday, April 10, in Fayette. Two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Camden Smith was the winning pitcher for Haleyville. He lasted two innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out one. Garrett threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
CURRY - Two points were enough to give the Haleyville Lions the win Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the first round of area play at Curry High School. The Lions defeated the Fayette Tigers by a score of 54-52. This put the Lions in the championship round Thursday, Feb. 7, against Curry, with Haleyville winning in overtime 49-42.
