Five charged in deaths of two Cullman County men

WINSTON COUNTY - The ongoing investigation into two Cullman County men found dead in a car near Delmar on Wednesday, Nov. 8, has so far yielded five arrests, on charges ranging from trafficking fentanyl to abuse of a corpse.

DOUBLE SPRINGS - The continuing investigation into distribution of methamphetamine from a camper has resulted in two persons being arrested after two informant-related drug buys, according to the Winston County Sheriff’s Office.

NATURAL BRIDGE - The high speed pursuit of a suspect vehicle by the Winston County Sheriff’s Office has led to the arrests of four persons, including alleged drug traffickers as well as two persons charged in a recent auto theft case in Haleyville.

DOUBLE SPRINGS - Motorists are being urged to avoid the area of Highway 278 a quarter mile past Mt. Carmel Church between Double Springs and Natural Bridge, Thursday morning, May 30, due to two vehicles engulfed in flames.

WINSTON COUNTY - Four of the biggest drug dealers in Winston County have been taken down and over $100,000 worth of drugs with a combined three pounds of methamphetamine removed from various locations in the county,in one of the largest drug stings to do down in at least a decade.

Sheriff encourages “yes” vote on local amendment

WINSTON COUNTY - On March 5, voters will have the choice to approve a local amendment allowing the Winston County Sheriff’s Office to conduct fundraisers, with proceeds benefiting the office, as well as charitable organizations and volunteer fire departments.
