DOUBLE SPRINGS - The Winston County Board of Registrars Office is working to correct an error from the March 5 primary election, when voters informed the office and polling officials at the Nesmith voting precinct they had received the wrong ballot for a different school board district than which they should vote.

WINSTON COUNTY - The reason the primary election was moved to Tuesday, May 24, from its original June time slot, was so that the runoff election would not fall during the Independence Day holiday.

WINSTON COUNTY - About a year after Cullman Electric Cooperative announced a major internet project to build a fiber optic network among its substations, crews are being seen in areas across Winston County’s east side laying fiber optic lines in phase 1 of the multi-faceted high speed internet project.

NESMITH - Several families in the Nesmith are picking up the pieces after severe weather blew through the area early Wednesday morning, March 31, pulling roofs off of houses, removed a garage from the side of a home and more damage.

 

NESMITH  -  A father and son were injured in a rollover accident Sunday morning, Feb. 18, when foggy weather conditions contributed to the vehicle losing control in a curve and overturning several times.
