WINSTON COUNTY - The University of Alabama awarded some 2,257 degrees during its fall commencement Dec. 12.
Brian Dill, of Double Springs, received a Bachelor of Science degree in education.
Leigh Mayberry, of Arley, received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.
TUSCALOOSA Established in 1973 to honor those individuals who have brought lasting fame to Alabama through their business contributions, the Alabama Business Hall of Fame is proud to announce the names of the seven individuals that compose the Class of 2020.
The inductees are: Mr. Robert Baron, of Huntsville; Mr. Cecil Batchelor, of Russellville; Dr. Marcus Bendickson, of Huntsville; Mr. Jay Grinney, of Birmingham; Dr. Lonnie Johnson, of Atlanta, Ga.; Mr. Joe Ritch, of Huntsville; and Mr. Stan Starnes of Birmingham.
TUSCALOOSA - University of Alabama student Kylie Lovett of Haleyville, will participate in UA's Cooperative Education Program for fall 2019. Lovett will be working at BASF Corporation. Dillon Rackard of Phil Campbell, is also a co-op student at the University of Alabama. He will be working at Adtran.
TUSCALOOSA - The Alabama Department of Transportation plans to resurface and place new traffic striping on U.S. Hwy. 278 from the junction of Chilcoat Road to east of the junction of County Road 3089 in Double Springs.
