Civitan Club auction, barbecue supper this Saturday, April 7


Clients at the Winston/Marion County ARC are excited about the auction and barbecue supper this Saturday that will provide much needed funding for their programs and services. HALEYVILLE - The annual barbecue supper and auction sponsored by the Haleyville Civitan Club to benefit clients with disabilities at the Winston/Marion ARC will be Saturday, April 7, with supper starting at 5:30 p.m. and the auction following at the Slaughter Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church, located on 9th Avenue in Haleyville.

Barbecue supper plates are $7.50 and include barbecue, chips, beans, slaw, a drink and dessert. Tickets are available from any Civitan member or will be available at the door that night. Civitans are also in the process of collecting items from businesses, industries and individuals that will be up for bid through a grand auction, which will include a showcase of bedding, furniture, outdoor furniture and accessories, as well as knick knacks, gift certificates and a variety of other items. The auction usually raises around $8,000 to $10,000, which is divided between the ARC and the Civitan Club for community service projects.
