HALEYVILLE - After a year of being vacant, the place 2 seat of the Haleyville Board of Education was officially filled, when Boo Haughton was sworn into office, during a special-called meeting early Monday morning.
Haughton was sworn into office by Haleyville Municipal Judge Jonathan Lowe before official business of the board was conducted.
“As part of your swearing in, you are required to affirm seven items on the certificate of affirmation of a school board member,” Lowe instructed Haughton at the start of the meeting.
The meeting was held in a classroom of First Baptist Church, due to teacher in-service which was conducted at the church building that morning.
