Pink bows will be up all over Double Springs in the upcoming weeks as the Panorama Study Club prepares for its annual Paint the Town Pink 5K run and walk to raise money for breast cancer support for local patients.
DOUBLE SPRINGS - The Panorama Study Club in Double Springs is gearing up for its 11th annual Paint the Town Pink 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15. The race will begin at 8 a.m. in Gateway Shopping Center parking lot and proceed down Highway 195 through downtown Double Springs and through the Winston County Health Department parking lot before returning to Gateway.
The race route will be adorned with hundreds of pink bows in honor or remembrance of those who have battled cancer. Bows lcan be purchased for $10 from any Panorama member.
This years' commemorative shirt is a streetscape of Main Street. The image will be full color on a sport gray T-shirt. The shirts are being pre-sold to the public for $20 for those not participating in the race.
All proceeds from this event will be used to assist people in the local community who have been diagnosed with cancer and to help provide mammograms for women who may need assistance. It's important to Panorama that the money stay local.
