Lakeland hosting COVID vaccine clinics

HALEYVILLE - Lakeland Community Hospital, located on Highway 195 in Haleyville, will be hosting COVID vaccine clinics during October and November, with the first planned for Friday, Oct. 7, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the  hospital boardroom on the first floor.
Anyone who has never had a COVID vaccine, as well as those who might have got the initial vaccine, but not the second one may get one during this free clinic.  Also the new bivalent booster doses will be available.  The new booster provides protection against the original COVID strain as well as the omicron variant, which has become dominant.  
Lakeland will be administering the Pfizer bivalent booster, which is available to anyone 12 years of age or older.  Persons can receive a booster dose as long as it has been at least two months since receiving the second primary dose of the vaccine.
Persons attending this clinic will need to bring photo ID, their insurance card and their COVID vaccination card, if they have one.  There is no out-of-pocket cost for the COVID vaccine.
Clinics are also planned for the following dates:

Tuesday, Oct. 18 - 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.;
Friday, Nov. 4 - 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.;
Tuesday, Nov. 15 - 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

All interested persons are welcome to attend.
