Forest Service seeking public comments

BANKHEAD NATIONAL FOREST - The U.S. Forest service is seeking public comment on three Forest Orders that pertain to the Bankhead National Forest. Comments must be submitted by Thursday, Dec. 1. They can be submitted by faxing (334) 241-8101, emailing comments-southern-alabama@usda.gov or mailing them to Cherie Hamilton, Forest Supervisor, USDA Forest Service, 2946 Chestnut Street, Montgomery, AL, 36107.

Each order will renew a similar order that was already in effect. The first order (https://www.fs.usda.gov/project/?project=62863) relates to Corinth, Clear Creek and Brushy Lake Campgrounds and the second order (https://www.fs.usda.gov/project/?project=62984) to Owl Creek, McDougal, Allred and Wolfpen Camp Sites. Both would prohibit camping at these locations for more than 14 consecutive days within a 30-day period, parking or leaving a vehicle in violation of posted instructions and the presence of any person who is not camping or visiting a camper from 10 p.m. - 6 a.m. The first order would also prohibit parking or leaving a vehicle outside a parking space assigned to one's own camp site and possessing, parking or leaving more than two vehicles, except motorcycles or bicycles, per camp site in the stated campgrounds.

The third order (https://www.fs.usda.gov/project/?project=62987) regulates activities in the Sipsey Wilderness.
