Ball resigns as HHS varsity boys basketball coach; Burleson named new head

HALEYVILLE - The Haleyville Board of Education accepted the resignation of Dustin Ball as varsity boys basketball coach, effective March 23, and as head coach for the golf program, effective May 25.  The board then hired Dylan Burleson as the varsity boys basketball coach, effective May 25.  The vote to hire Burleson was unanimous, with board member Kris Burleson abstaining.

In other personnel items, the board approved the retirement of Leigh Ann Kiser as Haleyville Elementary teacher effective May 25, and the resignation of Janna Carruth as HES teacher, effective May 25.  The retirement of Rachel Armstrong as Haleyville Middle School special education teacher was approved, effective June 1.  The resignations of Hannah Fox as Haleyville High School bookkeeper and Christy Aderholt as superintendent secretary, both effective May 25, were also approved.

Ashley Tidwell was hired as the English language learning teacher for Haleyville City Schools, effective Aug. 8.
