
DOUBLE SPRINGS - On March 27, around 7 p.m., Terry Wayne "Bubba" Lewis, 40, of Double Springs was struck and killed by a vehicle on County Road 18 north of Double Springs in a rural area, noted Winston County Sheriff Caleb Snoddy.
The vehicle was driven by Christian Daniel Modas, 30, of Killen, who has been charged with murder and as of press time was in the Winston County Jail facing $1 million bond, Snoddy said.
The incident is under investigation by the sheriffs office. No further details will be given at this time.
Lewis had been auto technology instructor at the Winston Career Academy in Double Springs the past 18 years, according to Winston County Schools Superintendent Greg Pendley.
