NATURAL BRIDGE - A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 11:49 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, has claimed the life of a Northport man.
Paul T. Gonnering, 49, was fatally injured when the 2013 Volkswagen Passat he was driving left the roadway and struck an embankment, according to troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, which is working the accident. Gonnering was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash occurred on Highway 13 near the 259-mile marker, approximately five miles north of Lynn. The Alabamian is working to learn more about the accident and will have more as it becomes available.
