Phone issues for Winston County governmental departments continue

DOUBLE SPRINGS - Phone issues for Winston County governmental departments have been plaguing the county for over two weeks now, and there is still no solution as of Wednesday, Sept. 6.  Calls are not going through to the various departments or being dropped very quickly.

County Commission Chairman Roger Hayes apologizes for the issues and stated that the county is working hard with their telecom provider to correct the issue.  In the meantime, the county is recommending those needing to get in touch with the various departments to try entering an extension after dialing the number, noting that this seems to be allowing calls to come through better.

The county has provided the following list of numbers and extensions for those needing to call:

Board of Registrars:  (205) 489-5533, extension 2043;

Circuit Clerk:  (205) 489-5026, extensions 2081-2088;
