Melinda Sue Bailey, 66, of Houston, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 4, 1957 to John Steve Shelton, Sr. and Freda Lorene Gray. Melinda was known for her love for her grandchildren and Alabama football. An avid animal lover, she was proud to be one of the founding members of Free State Four Paws, where she also served as a board member.
Melinda is survived by her husband, Eddie Bell; daughter, Jessica Bell; granddaughter, Ali Thomas; grandson, Bowen Ralph; nephew, John Albert Ward; cousins, Teresa Bumgart and Melissa Shelton Griffin and stepbrother, Scott Wolfe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Freda Lorene Gray and John Steve Shelton, Sr. and brother, John Steve Shelton, Jr.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Nichols Funeral Home is assisting the family.
