DOUBLE SPRINGS    -  Sharon Baughn, newly hired principal at Double Springs Elementary School, is a strong believer in building relationships.
The Winston County Board of Education named Baughn as DSES principal effective July 1, during their regular meeting June 13, at which time they also approved the retirement of Heather Tucker from that position, effective Aug. 1.
Tucker has accepted the position of executive director of Wild Alabama, replacing the retiring Maggie Johnston.
“Mrs. Baughn has always done a good job in the positions she has held in Winston County,” stated BOE President Joey Boteler.
“She has a lot of good ideas, and I think she’ll do Double Springs a real good job.  I wish her the best.  We all need to get behind her and support her,” Boteler added.
Baughn will be coming on board at DSES, using her experience from the past three years as an instructional coach in her new venture.
