Bankhead district ranger temporarily reassigned

Bankhead District Ranger Andy Scott has been temporarily reassigned to Washington, D.C.

BANKHEAD NATIONAL FOREST - There has been a temporary change of leadership in the Bankhead Ranger District because Ranger Andy Scott is currently serving an 120-day detail as acting assistant director for natural resources (biological and physical resources portfolio) for the National Forest System in the Washington D.C. office.
The detail began Tuesday, July 29.
Scott was assigned to the detail on Tuesday, July 23, he said the next day in an email, adding that National Forests in Alabama Forest Supervisor Linwood Butler planned to seek a temporary acting ranger for the Bankhead starting Wednesday, July 24.
Until one is assigned, the Bankhead staff will assume the duties of district ranger using a pre-determined rotation. Archaeologist Marcy Welch is first up on the rotation and will act as ranger for the rest of this month. In August, Natural Resources Specialist Tyler Fish will act as ranger.
