Alabamian to honor healthcare heroes April 9

Back by popular demand, the Alabamian is planning to run another Healthcare Heroes special section this year.
“We were very pleased with the response we received over the last two years when we honored our healthcare heroes,”  Alabamian Managing Editor Shelly Hess said.  “We had many more heroes turned in for last year’s section, and we hope to have even more submitted this year.”
Healthcare Heroes recognizes local residents and natives of the area who work in all aspects of healthcare - doctors, nurses, technicians, therapists, pharmacists, administrative employees and more.  
“Like all other professions, it takes everyone working together to get the job done right,”  Hess said.  “That is why we want to recognize everyone who works in healthcare.
The Healthcare Heroes section will print Wednesday, April 9, and will include photos  of healthcare professionals, along with their names, job titles and where they work.  Unlike the Alabamian’s annual Veterans section, anyone who was in the section last year will need to submit their photos and information again.  
“We want to make sure that all information is accurate for everyone who is included in this section, so that is why we are asking people to submit their photos and information again,”  Hess said.  “Some of our healthcare heroes may have received promotions or changed their place of employment.”
To submit photos and information, send them to news@mynwapaper.com.  Photos and information can also be dropped off at the Alabamian office on Highway 195 in Haleyville Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.  Those who would prefer to mail their photos and information can do so by sending it to:

“Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope if you want your photo returned,”  Hess said.

There is no charge to submit a photo and information for this section.  The submission deadline is Friday, March 28, at 5 p.m.
