Chili Cook-off rescheduled to March 22

ARLEY - Free State Four Paws (FSFP) has rescheduled its second annual Chili Cook-off from this Saturday, March 15, to Saturday, March 22, and is now offering veterans free admission thanks to a a generous donor who wants to treat those who have served their country to some chili.

The cook-off will take place from 12-4 p.m. at Meek Baptist Church, 360 Helicon Road, Arley.

This fundraiser will help fund FSFP's reduced-cost spay/neuter program for another year. The program is also supported by donations from the Nothing but Love Canine Foundation and the Arley Women's Club.

Last year, between April and December, FSFP was able to help spay or neuter 170 pets in the Winston County area through this program.

Cook-off tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children. A ticket entitles you to sample 20 varieties of chili and then vote for your three favorites. A drink and dessert are also included. You can pay at the door or email FSFPSpayNeuter@gmail.com. Cash, PayPal and Venmo are accepted. Veterans need only mention their service at the door.

Misfits Pottery will have items available for purchase at the cook-off with 100 percent of the proceeds going to benefit FSFP. Donations are also welcome.
