Cordelia Harrison McCarley, 91, formerly of Haleyville, entered into eternal rest on
Tuesday, March 18, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, L.V. McCarley; their infant son, Doyle David; parents, Ben and Cora Harrison; brothers, Alvis, Robert, Talton (Pibb) and Hubert Harrison; sisters, Beatrice, Eva, Martellia and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her daughters, Joyce (Gary) Simms and Kathy (Billy) Osborn; grandchildren, Jonathan Simms, Chris Simms, Scott Osborn, Kim (Tim) Meadows, Stefanie (Matt) McClellan and Natalie (Jimmy) Marion; great-grandchildren, Madison and Luke Simms, Matthew, Mae and Liam Meadows, Evalee McClellan, Hatton and Hampton Marion and a host of precious
nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She worked from 1950-2019, until she was 85 years old, first at Haleyville Textile and
finished up at Haleyville Drapery. She loved all her co-workers and both places and
enjoyed her work tremendously. She was a lifetime member of New Hope Baptist
Church and a pillar of the community, always willing to help anyone who needed it.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 12-2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, with her funeral following at 2 p.m. in the chapel, officiated by Brother Richie Emerson. Interment will be at New Hope Cemetery.
