Haleyville Hometown Summer event series kicks off Saturday

HALEYVILLE - Haleyville Hometown Summer, kicks off this Saturday, June 14, at the Heart of Haleyville Park downtown with a first-ever farmers market for that location. A variety of events will fill the summer calendar at the park, located on Main Street, through August, noted Park Committee Member and Haleyville City Clerk Christy Harbin.

Farmers Market Day  this Saturday will be from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.,  with vendors selling all types of produce, canned goods, homemade items and crafts, Harbin explained.

Bluegrass music will be played by deejay Evan Tidwell from the park stage during the farmers’ market, organizers added.

The public is encouraged to attend this and the other events planned at the downtown park--all free of charge, according to organizers.

T-shirts celebrating Haleyville Hometown Summer are now on sale for $15 and will be pre-sold at City Hall as well as on the days of the events planned through the summer, Harbin stated.
