ARLEY - An 82-year old Arley woman was found dead in her bedroom Monday night, July 28, after her home caught fire.
Tommie Cleghorn was pronounced dead by Winston County Coroner Tracey Holley at approximately 9:30 p.m. Cleghorn was removed from the scene by the coroner's office and was later transferred to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science in Huntsville.
Arley, Helicon and Addison fire departments responded to the call of the fire Monday evening, extinguishing the blaze. Also responding were the Arley Police Department and the Winston County Sheriff's Office.
The fire is currently under investigation by the State Fire Marshal's Office, Arley Police Department, 25th Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office.
