Genetta Renee Steien, 57, of Haleyville, passed away Friday, August 21, 2026, in Tuscumbia.
Genetta was born March 31, 1969, to L.C. and Sonya Postell. She was a joyful, tenderhearted and kind woman who had a great sense of humor. She was God-fearing and loved church. Genetta loved everyone and enjoyed music, crossword puzzles, Hallmark movies and, especially, "Little House on the Prairie."
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 1-2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Thornhill Cemetery in Haleyville.
Genetta is survived by sons, William Kaleb (Janie) Steien and Jonathan Darrel Steien; grandkids, Kenzlee Kois, Everleigh Steien and Bentley Steien; sisters, Sharron (George) Shirey, Lynn (Bart) Hyde, Diane Nesbitt, Karen Bonner and Sandra Doss; brother, Franklin L. Postell and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by father, William "LC" Postell; mother, Sonya Postell and stepmother, DeWanda Postell.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Keller Landing, Affinity Hospice, NHC Healthcare in Moulton, Glenwood Nursing Home and North Alabama Medical Center.
