Multiple reports of tree and lightning damage across county

WINSTON COUNTY - Thunderstorms across primarily the southern portion of Winston County Saturday evening, June 16, are packing a punch, with numerous reports of trees down, and a possible lightning strike to a house. 

Firefighters are responding to reports of multiple trees down on Highway 5 near Lynn at approximately 9:30 p.m.  Prior to this report, firefighters in Helicon responded to a tree down on County Road 40.  The Arley Fire Department also responded to reports of a structure fire, possibly caused by lightning, on County Road 63.

At approximately 9:35 p.m., Helicon firefighters responded to reports of tree limbs on fire on top of a power line on County Road 4036, which is located off of County Road 40.  Cullman Electric was also dispatched to the scene.
