HALEYVILLE - First days on the job can be tough but not for the new Chief Operating Officer Ashley Pool at Lakeland Community Hospital.
“The people are wonderful and welcomed me with open arms this morning,” Pool said of the employees at the hospital on her first day.
Pool is amazed at how loyal they have been to the hospital, including some who have been there for more than forty years.
“That’s true loyalty! There’s a reason for that, when people choose to stay in a place that long. This spoke volumes to me, when you have employees willing to stay the course that long,” Pool mentioned.
“It’s going to be great having her on the ground here and to help the hospital grow and come back from where it was,” Martha McCormick, interim-CEO of Lakeland and chief operating officer of Java Medical Group, said. “We’re excited that she’s elected to be a part of our team. We are bringing her on board effective today (Sept. 5), and she will actually be on site five days per week,” McCormick stated.
