JASPER - Haleyville Lions baseball team fired up the offense in the first inning of play against the Curry Yellow Jackets Wednesday, April 3. The Lions scored a run when Scott McAlpine singled.Brantson Lambert took the win for HHS. He allowed six hits and two runs over six innings, striking out seven. John Whiteside threw one inning in relief.Cody Dunagan took the loss for Curry. He allowed six hits and three runs over three innings, striking out four.
Haleyville scattered 12 hits in the game. Jackson Kennedy, McAlpine, and Morgan Long each had multiple hits for Haleyville Lions Varsity. Kennedy led Haleyville Lions Varsity with three hits in five at bats.
Curry collected six hits on the day. Jacob Woder and Luke Smith all managed multiple hits for Curry.
