Early lead for Russellville seals fate for Haleyville Lions

The Haleyville Lions  watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 4-1 loss to Russellville on Tuesday, April 16. Russellville took the lead on a single in the first inning. The Tigers opened up scoring in the first inning, when Hunter Briles singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

Gordon White was credited with the victory for Russellville. He lasted four innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking zero. Tanner James threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. James recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Russellville.

Blake Bennett took the loss for Haleyville Lions Varsity. He surrendered one run on two hits over one inning, striking out one and walking zero.

Ty Black, Bennett, John Miller Lawson, Jackson Kennedy, John Whiteside, Mason Lambert, and Abraham Marchant each collected one hit to lead Haleyville.

Briles led Russellville with three hits in four at bats.
