HALEYVILLE - The Haleyville American Legion Post 33 baseball hosted Hamilton Post 165 Saturday morning, June 15, taking a 7-2 victory and Lakeview Black Post 2011, winning 9-1 in the afternoon.
Haleyville Post 33 fired up the offense in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Haleyville Post 33.
Haleyville tallied three runs in the second inning. Haleyville’s offense in the inning was led by Hayden Armstrong, Gavin West and Morgan Long, who all drove in runs.
Camden Smith took the win for Haleyville Post 33. He lasted five innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out four. Armstrong threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Seth Knight led things off on the pitcher's mound for Hamilton. He lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs while striking out three.
Long led Haleyville Post 33 with two hits in two at bats.
Haleyville knocked in five runs in the first on its way to a 9-1 victory over Post 2011 Lakeview Black during the 3 p.m. game. Jordan Lasker and Caleb Williams each had RBIs in the big inning.
Haleyville Post 33 got things started in the first inning. Lasker was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.
Williams earned the win for Haleyville Post 33. He allowed zero hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out four and walking one. Brantson Lambert threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Haleyville Post 33 collected eight hits on the day. Smith, Armstrong and Williams each collected multiple hits for Haleyville Post 33. Williams, Armstrong and Smith each managed two hits to lead Haleyville Post 33.
