BIRMINGHAM - The Jefferson County Coroner's Office is seeking the next of kin or relatives of Altha Elaine Lovelady, 63, who passed away on January 31, 2018.

Lovelady was living at 1514 11th Avenue North in Bessemer at the time of her death.

At the time of the decedent’s death she was under the care of Comfort Care Hospice.  Her death was found to be due to natural causes.  The decedent’s caregivers had no knowledge of any next of kin and knew of no arrangements for final disposition.  Therefore, the decedent was transported to the Jefferson County Coroner/Medical Examiner’s Office for safekeeping until family could be located and burial or cremation arrangements could be made.  Currently, all efforts to identify and locate family have failed.  Investigators with the coroner’s office have found that the decedent possibly has family in the area of Double Springs and/or Athens, Alabama and, she possibly has family in Texas.
