DOUBLE SPRINGS - The newly opened Winston Homebuilders received much praise from local, federal and state officials attending a ribbon cutting Wednesday, July 17,  celebrating not only the company’s 200th job but also the renovation of the plant’s finishing facility, thanks to a $400,000 grant from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs.
“Today is a great day for Winston County,” began Keith Jones, director of the Northwest Alabama Council of Local Governments, one of the major partners in the joint project of locating Winston Homebuilders to the former Southern Homes plant at the Double Springs Industrial Park earlier this  year.
Jones was among a panel of speakers representing the state and local level, that addressed a crowd including officials with Winston Homebuilders, which has gone beyond their expectation of  of hiring 150 to their current count reaching 200 employees.
