Suzie Feist
ARLEY - Throughout Winston’s history, a 4-H student from the county has never had the distinction of being a 4-H state ambassador...until now, thanks to the hard work and dedication of 15-year-old Suzie Feist, of Arley.
Feist is a sophomore at Meek High School and has been active in 4-H the past two years. Her endeavors in that program began when she and her family moved from Huntsville to Arley.
“When I lived in Huntsville, we didn’t really have it in schools,” she said. Feist credits Kerri Roberts, 4-H extension agent for Winston County, for her 4-H beginnings. Roberts visits schools and shows the different areas and projects 4-H has to offer the students.
Credit also goes to Wendy Daniel, 4-H volunteer and media specialist at Meek High School.
“Wendy asked me if I wanted to join the wildlife team,” Feist explained. “I like wildlife, so I wanted to try it out. Our team got first in state, and I got first overall in state.”
