ASHRIDGE - Fire departments from Ashridge and Double Springs responded in the early morning hours of Thursday, Oct. 24, to a structure fire at James and Barbara Lovett's residence located at 3194 County Road 15.
Fire officials reported the fire, which resulted in departments being called out around 3:50 a.m., heavily damaged the living room and kitchen areas of the residence, that also received heavy water damage. Smoke damage was reported throughout the remainder of the residence,which was a log sided single floor dwelling, officials on the scene said. Also responded were Regional Paramedical Services and the Winston County Sheriff's Office.
The fire was contained with only 500 gallons of water and brought under control within five to 10 minutes, with fire departments cleaning up and checking for hot spots for another 90 minutes, they said. Fire departments were able to leave the scene around 5:35 a.m. No injuries were reported at the scene, and cause of the fire is under investigation.
