In the second of what has been two daily updates this week on the statewide confirmed case count for coronavirus-2019, or COVID-19 in Alabama, the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) announced Wednesday afternoon that the confirmed number of COVID-19 cases in Alabama is now 51.
Northwest Alabama still has no confirmed cases of the virus, and there have been no deaths attributed to the virus within Alabama. Jefferson County still has the majority of confirmed cases, at 25. Lee County has 8; Shelby County has 4; Tuscaloosa County has 3; Elmore County has 4; Montgomery County has 2 and Baldwin, Calhoun, Limestone, Madison and St. Clair counties each have 1 confirmed case.
