Lakeland Community Hospital opens outdoor clinic for those with flu or flu-like symptoms only

HALEYVILLE - Lakeland Community Hospital in Haleyville has opened a walk-in clinic for persons with fever or flu-like symptoms only.  The outdoor clinic is located at the front entrance of the hospital, off of Highway 195, at the covered patient drop-off/pick-up area.

Persons with fever and/or flu-like symptoms who wish to have their symptoms checked out are asked to turn onto Layne Hill Drive off of Highway 195 beside the hospital, then follow the signs to the drive-thru clinic.  Staff members are at the outdoor clinic and will register the patient, evaluate symptoms then provide flu and/or strep tests, if they deem them to be necessary.  All of this will be performed while the patient remains in the car.

Persons coming to the clinic should  bring a photo ID and their insurance card with them.  The visit will be billed to the patient's health insurance, and no payment will be taken at the clinic.

The outdoor clinic will be open weekdays from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. until further notice.  Persons who have flu-like symptoms and/or fever do not have to call the hospital first in order to come to the outdoor clinic.  However, if someone has many if not all of the symptoms of COVID-19, they are asked to call Lakeland's Emergency Room at (205) 485-7102.

For more information about the outdoor clinic, call (205) 485-7227.
