DOUBLE SPRINGS - The Winston County Board of Education met Thursday, July 9, and July 16, to make personnel and other changes.
In retirements and resignations were Alisha Sorknes at Addison Elementary School, Ilene Garrison at Double Springs Elementary School effective Aug. 1, and Nikki Shipman, payroll clerk at the central office, effective Sept. 1.
Shannon Dodd was named maintenance supervisor effective Jan. 1, 2021. Breanne Laseter and Garrett McCurley were named paraprofessionals effective Aug. 3, while Sharon Naylor was approved as principal at AES effective July 9.
At the July 16, meeting, David Tidwell was named Winston County maintenance worker effective July 16. Brandie Rennicker was approved as lunchroom manager at Meek schools effective July 16, while Shena Brakeman was approved as lunchroom worker at DSES effective Aug. 3.
Expenditures for April were approved with payroll as $1,739,191.54 and accounts payable $184,866.36. Likewise, May expenditures were also approved with payroll as $1,719,839.09 and accounts payable $383,281.69. April bank reconciliations were approved also.
