HALEYVILLE - The American Legion Whitehead Post 33 Auxiliary in Haleyville is taking orders this month for their banner program.
The double-sided 24x48 banners are displayed throughout downtown Haleyville each year from just before Memorial Day through the Fourth of July and again around Veteran’s Day. Orders are being accepted now in order to have any new banners ready to display for Veteran’s Day.
The one-time cost to create and display the banner is $125, which includes a double sided banner and bracket with hardware. Those who wish to purchase an additional banner to be displayed in their yards can pay an extra $20.
Members of the American Legion Auxiliary will be at the American Legion Post, located off of Highway 13 North, each Saturday this month from 9-11 a.m. to take orders and collect photos to use on the banners. Please bring a good photograph, as well as your or your loved one's information such as years of service, branch, rank and any information you might wish to have displayed.
Due to the pandemic, all persons coming to the post will be required to wear a mask and social distancing will be enforced.
For more information, please call (205) 494-5021. The deadline to purchase a banner for display for Veterans’ Day will be Saturday, Aug. 29.
