Mr. Brady Joe Nix was born December 25, 1941 in Winston County and passed away September 29, 2020 at the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham at the age of 78.
Brady was a truck driver for 40 years and was known by his C.B. handle, “Bull”, by his trucker friends. He was a hard working man of integrity and would lend a helping hand to any of his friends, neighbors, or family. He attended the Lighthouse Independent Holiness church for over 20 years where he was a dedicated leader for 16. During his membership, he served as Sunday School Superintendent and Singing Chairman. He spent his last days with a desire to sing and tell others about Jesus.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 6-9 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where his funeral will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will be at New Oak Grove Cemetery, Nauvoo. Brother Randy Jones and Brother Alvis Treece will officiate.
Mr. Nix is survived by his daughter, Tina (Alvis) Treece; son, Timothy Nix; grandsons, Kevin (Heather) Greene, Shad and Devon Nix; granddaughter, Veronica Nix; step-granddaughters, Monica Powell and Maranda (Gregory) Mitchell; great-granddaughters, Blakelynn and Adley Greene; step-great-granddaughters, Katelynn (J.R.) Harp, Carmon and Mariah Hernandez; step-great-grandsons, Drew (Meagan) Turner, Matt and Eli Turner; step-great-great-grandsons, Kaden Turner, Abraham Tidwell, Vincent and Garett Harp; step-great-great-granddaughter, Kinleigh Turner; sisters, Genella (Doug) Smith and Shirley (Lonnie) Dodd; sister-in-law, Glenda Nix; fiancée, Nellie Baccus; special friends, Bro. Hollis and Maxine Boyd and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nina Nix; second wife, Faye Nix; parents, Mark and Berthie Nix; brothers, William, Joel and James Nix; sister, Willie Lou (Clarence) Barnes; niece, Susan Smith; nephew, Howard Barnes and step-great-grandson, Brandon Turner.
