Hastings new head football, baseball coach at LHS

LYNN - Mark Hastings, who has experienced a successful coaching career including most recently at Hale County High School, has come on board as the new head football coach and head baseball coach for Lynn High School.

Hastings, who was hired by unanimous vote of the Winston County Board of Education in their regular session on Tuesday, Jan. 12, has served through the years as head football coach, athletic director and physical education teacher.

During his tenure at Hale County High School, from 2019-present, Hastings led the football team to their first winning season since 2013 as well as oversaw all athletic programs at the school, he said.

Hastings has also worked at Oakman High School since 2009, leading the program to seven straight second round playoff appearances, a 71-45 record and an appearance in the 2016 state quarterfinals.

Before that, Hastings also worked at Holy Spirit Catholic High School,  2003-2008, where he led his team to a 30-21 record over five years, including playoff appearances every eligible year.
