GUIN - The Lynn Bears started out on the wrong side of the scoreboard in their away game with Marion County High Tuesday, March 30, but were able to roar back to a 7-4 victory.
The Red Raiders jumped out to a two-run lead, but Cale Tittle and Brandon Hill were able to tie the game up at 2 in the top of the third inning.
Marion County took the lead back, but it was all over for them in the top of the sixth. Jackson Baker, John Bryan and Logan Kelly loaded the bases, then Marcus Meeks hit a grounder, reaching base and bringing Bryan and Kelly home. Baker scored after tagging up, with Meeks reaching third base. Riley Humphres singled to right field, bringing Meeks home. Jon Linley scored later in the inning to give the Bears the 7-3 lead. The Red Raiders scored one more time in the bottom of the seventh, but it wasn’t enough, and Lynn took the 7-4 victory.
Tittle started the game for the Bears, striking out 14 and surrendering 3 runs on six hits over five innings. Chance Majors wrapped it up for the Bears, striking out 3, walking 1 and surrendering 1 run on 4 hits.
