Nauvoo man dies from injuries sustained in crash

CARBON HILL - A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. Monday, April 19, has claimed the life of a Nauvoo man.

Clifford Garrison, 40, was killed when he fell asleep while driving a 2004 Chevrolet Classic. The Classic struck the rear of a 2015 Peterbilt. Garrison sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital. Earlier Tuesday, April 20, he succumbed to those injuries and was pronounced deceased by the hospital staff.

The crash occurred three miles east of Carbon Hill on Interstate 22, at the 48-mile marker. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
