PHS boys and girls fall short against Deshler

BEAR CREEK - With 1:22 left in the basketball game, the Phillips High School She Bears had come back from a 25 points deficit at halftime against the Deshler Lady Tigers to be within five points of the lead on Tuesday, Nov. 27. The Lady Bears lost 58-69. The Phillips High School Bears lost by a score of 55-99 at home.
Ally McCollum led the Lady Bears scoring with 20 points, followed by Gracie Hallman, 15; Lexie Dishner, 7, Caitlin Martin, 6, Baily Bishop and Amber Markham with 5 each.

Phillips drops loss to Hubbertville Lions

HUBBERTVILLE - Hubbertville closed out regular season play by hosting the Phillips High Bears on Friday night. Winning the coin toss, the Lions elected to receive the opening kick to get the much anticipated game underway. Gage Key received the ball at the 20-yard line advancing to the 41-yard line and four plays later, he rambled his way down the right side line into end zone for the opening drive score. The PAT kick by Zach Hubbert was good and the Lions were on the scoreboard with 9:42 remaining in the first quarter.  

 

Phillips wins in three straight over Lynn

BEAR CREEK - With the victory over the Lynn Bears Thursday, Oct. 18, the Phillips Lady Bears won three straight sets and ended the regular season with a 32-7 record. They are currently ranked third in the state in 1A high school volleyball.
Seniors were recognized for Phillips following the match. They are Bailey Bishop, Lexie Dishner, Amber Markham and Caitlin Martin.
The PHS Lady Bears won 25-21, 25-13 and 25-12.
Stats for Phillips were:

Bailey Bishop, 14 kills, 1 block, 4 digs, 3 aces;

Bears trample Bobcats 28-12

BEAR CREEK - The anticipated rivalry between the Phillips Bears and Phil Campbell Bobcats came to an end, with Phillips the victor Friday, Sept. 28, at the James E. Glass stadium.
