Police chief asks for additional equipment in light of national mass shootings

DOUBLE SPRINGS - A high number of mass shootings throughout the nation so far this year prompted Double Springs Police Chief Kim Miller to make a special request for more equipment, including one particular item, in case a local mass casualty incident occurs.

Most area law enforcement switching to digital radios Feb. 28

WINSTON COUNTY - The Winston County Sheriff’s Office has announced that communications on both their hand-held and vehicle radios is being switched over from analog to digital, providing a much clearer means of communication, effective Feb. 28.

DOUBLE SPRINGS  -  Multiple agencies converged on a residence in Double Springs Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 6, conducting a drug sweep  of 8.6 grams of crystal methamphetamine, in attempts of remedying an ongoing problem and arresting four individuals.
