Power Outage

WINSTON COUNTY - First responders have been very busy across Winston County Friday, March 3, after a powerful line of storms moved through the county mid-morning causing extensive wind damage.

WINSTON COUNTY - The number of people in Winston County without electricity as of 11:46 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, was 1,898 out of 23,372 customers. The data is provided through poweroutage.us where not all electric companies are tracked, though the majority of Winston County is included in the list.

WINSTON COUNTY- A planned eight-hour power outage will be in effect this Saturday, Oct. 17, for the eastern third of Winston County, which will include Addison, Arley, Houston, Helicon, Grayson and Moreland. The outage is scheduled to begin at 6 a.m. and could be out up to 2 p.m.

HALEYVILLE - Significant power outages are being reported in the Haleyville area Monday evening, Oct. 7.  Most of the outages are in the area around Kelly Hill and Highway 13 North.  As of 6:53 p.m. nearly 600 people were reported to be without power in Winston County, all served by Alabama Power. Power crews are working on the problem and will restore power as soon as possible.

WINSTON/MARION - An overnight storm system that quickly swept through the area left some tree and power line damage in its wake, resulting in power outages that are still ongoing.
