NORTHPORT - An Alabama Department of Corrections work release inmate housed in Hamilton and employed at Masonite in Haleyville escaped during the early morning hours Wednesday, July 19, and was apprehended the following day in the Northport area in a stolen vehicle with a loaded firearm.

Staff member at Hamilton Aged & Infirmed facility tests positive for COVID-19

HAMILTON - The Alabama Department of Corrections was informed via self-reporting that two staff members employed at Julia Tutwiler Prison for Women in Wetumpka, one staff member employed at Hamilton Aged and Infirmed in Hamilton and one staff member employed at Bullock Correctional Facility in Union Springs have tested positive for COVID-19.
