HALEYVILLE - An electrical fire contained to the press room area of the Northwest Alabamian newspaper office on Monday, Sept. 23, did not result in any injuries to employees, but did cause an evacuation of the building and a temporary shutdown of the business, affecting deadline schedules this week.

The Northwest Alabamian will be changing our advertising deadlines for the September 6, edition, due to Labor Day.

The Northwest Alabamian and The Journal Record in Hamilton are joining forces to honor some of Winston and Marion counties’ greatest heroes.

HALEYVILLE - The Northwest Alabamian is changing its advertising deadlines for the Wednesday, Sept. 8, edition, due to the Labor Day holiday. Classifieds will need to be turned in by Friday, Sept. 3, at 9 a.m. The deadline for display advertising will be Friday, Sept. 3, at 4 p.m.

WINSTON COUNTY - With the COVID-19 pandemic thankfully appearing to be coming to an end, the Alabamian is planning to honor the healthcare heroes who have worked tirelessly taking care of others, often putting their patients’ needs before their own.

HALEYVILLE - A member of the Alabamian family has won a prestigious award from the Alabama Press Association.

While Coronavirus-2019 has changed so many aspects of our lives, there is one thing it is not changing - the Alabamian’s annual high school graduation special section.

WINSTON COUNTY - Following recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as the Alabama Department of Public Health, the Alabamian office in Haleyville is closed to walk-in customers during the COVID-19 pandemic, as a way to protect our employees.
